2e Kerkelijke Rechtbank Dora Visser Bisdom Utrecht
Mgr. dr. S. van Calster, de ‘delegatus episcopalis’ van de kerkelijke rechtbank ten behoeve van dit zaligverklaringsproces, leidde de zitting in goede banen. Omdat kardinaal Eijk vanwege het aftreden van de paus vandaag afreisde naar Rome had hij, als aartsbisschop van Utrecht, hulpbisschop mgr. Hoogenboom aangewezen als zijn gedelegeerde. Daarnaast waren pastoor drs. M. Schyns (promotor iustitiae) en dr. A. Habets (notarius) aanwezig, evenals de vice-postulator van het zaligverklaringsproces, dr. W. Hilgeman. Ook de leden van de historische commissie, de Stichting Vrienden van Dora Visser en een aantal mensen uit haar geboorteplaats Gendringen waren naar de zitting gekomen.
Ontstaansgeschiedenis
Mgr. Hoogenboom opende de sessie door de Evangelielezing van de dag voor te lezen, gevolgd door het gebed ter bevordering van de zaligverklaring van Dorothea Visser. Hierna legde mgr. Van Calster de procedure van de zitting uit, gevolgd door een relaas over de ontstaansgeschiedenis van het dossier. Hij besloot met de mededeling dat het werk van de kerkelijke rechtbank “op een positieve wijze op 27 februari 2013 kon worden afgesloten. Uit alle getuigenissen van de archieven blijkt dat zowel tijdens haar leven als bij haar dood en ook daarna Dora als een heilige werd beschouwd,” aldus mgr. Van Calster.
Na het afleggen van de eed door de leden van de rechtbank en de controle plus het stempelen en ondertekenen van de documenten, werd mgr. Van Calster benoemd tot ‘porteur’, ‘drager’, van het dossier naar Rome. Hij zal het dossier aanbieden aan de apostolisch nuntius in Nederland, die het vervolgens per diplomatieke post naar Rome zal brengen. Hierdoor is er geen risico dat de dossiers bij douanecontrole geopend worden – het zegel mag immers alleen in Rome verbroken worden.
Vervolgens werden de dossiers – het origineel en twee kopieën – ingepakt en verzegeld. Het origineel blijft in het aartsbisdom (mgr. Hoogenboom borg dit direct na de zitting ‘achter slot en grendel’ op); de twee kopieën gaan naar Rome. Mgr. Hoogenboom sloot de zitting vervolgens af met de mededeling dat vice-postulator dr. Hilgeman per 28 februari is benoemd tot postulator en wenste hem veel succes en Gods zegen bij zijn werkzaamheden. Samen met de aanwezigen bad hij tot besluit het ‘gebed voor de keuze van een paus’ zoals dat op de gebedskaart staat die de Nederlandse bisdommen deze week verspreidden.[:en]
The Second Tribunal concerning Dora Visser, Archdiocese of Utrecht
The sitting was ably led by Msgr S. van Calster, the “delegatus episcopalis” – the bishop’s delegate on the Tribunal in the cause of this beatification process. Cardinal Eijk, Archbishop of Utrecht, who had left today for Rome following Pope Benedict’s abdication, had appointed Assistant Bishop Hoogenboom to represent him. Also present were Father M. Schyns (promotor justitiae), Father A. Habets (notarius) and Mr W. Hilgeman, the vice-postulator of the cause, along with the members of the historical commission, the Friends of Dora Visser Trust and a number of residents of her birthplace Gendringen.
Origins
Bishop Hoogenboom opened the sitting with the Gospel of the day, followed by the prayer for the beatification of Dora Visser. Then Msgr van Calster explained the procedure of the sitting, followed by an account of the origin of the case file. He concluded with the announcement that the work of the tribunal was rounded off in a positive way on 27 February 2013. Msgr van Calster reported that from all the testimonies in the archives it appears that during her life and at her death and thereafter, Dora was considered to be holy.
After the swearing of an oath by the members of the tribunal, followed by the checking, stamping and signing of the documents, Msgr van Calster was appointed “porteur”- the bearer of the case file to Rome. He will present the case file to the Apostolic Nuntio in the Netherlands, who will forward it to Rome by diplomatic post. This will prevent opening of the case file by customs, as the seal may only be broken in Rome.
Then the documents – the original and two copies – were packed up and sealed. The original stays in the Archdiocese (Bishop Hoogenboom secured it directly after the sitting under lock and key); the two copies go to Rome. Bishop Hoogenboom then closed the sitting by announcing the appointment of vice-postulator Mr Hilgeman as postulator from 28 February, and wished him success and God’s blessings in his work. Together with those present he prayed the Prayer for the Election of a Pope, as found on the prayer card distributed by the Dutch Bishops’ Conference this week.[:]
